Then follow the steps

In about five minutes any page of your site shows EUR / USD, ECB reference rate, with the time it was measured and a link to check it. You upload one plugin and paste one short line where the number should go.

  1. Download the plugin

    orvyn-feeds-0.1.0.zip. Keep it zipped; WordPress takes the zip as it is.

  2. Install and activate it

    Open your site’s admin (your address followed by /wp-admin). Go to Plugins › Add New Plugin › Upload Plugin › Choose File, pick the zip, Install Now, then Activate Plugin.

    You should see: Orvyn Feeds is listed under Plugins, and Settings has a new item, Orvyn feeds.

  3. Put the number on a page

    Edit any post or page. Add a Shortcode block (press +, type shortcode), or paste the line into a paragraph, then Publish or Update.

    You should see: The page shows 1.1411. Beside it, when it was measured, the word delayed, and a link to check the report. Every visitor sees the same number, and your site asks Orvyn at most once every day however many people read the page.

Want the signed number instead?

What you set up above shows the free number. It runs 15 minutes behind and is not signed, which is fine for a dashboard. The signed number is the newest one, and it comes with a proof anyone can check on the check page or on chain. It costs a little: you buy a pack of reads once, with your wallet, then a key spends from that pack. Three steps, in this order.

    Buy a pack on the feed’s page. The smallest is enough to start; a pack is a number of reads, and the page says what each costs.

  2. 2

    Make a key with the wallet that bought the pack. Sign in here and it is made for you, or make one under Dashboard, API keys, with the read scope only. A read key can spend the reads you bought and nothing more, and you revoke it there.

  3. 3

    Put the key in WordPress. Settings › Orvyn feeds, paste the key, Save Changes, then press Test the key. From then on every shortcode on the site shows the signed number and its proof link; the pages need no change. The key is never shown again after saving.

No tool holds a wallet or pays by itself. However often a sheet recalculates or a workflow runs, a feed is read from your pack at most once every day, because that is how often it changes.

If something looks wrong

The key was refusedThe key is wrong or was revoked. Make a new one and save it under Settings › Orvyn feeds.
No feed at …The address in the shortcode has a typo. Pick the feed above and copy the shortcode again.
The number is marked staleThe feed is late, or Orvyn could not be reached. The last known number stays on the page until a new one arrives.
The shortcode prints as text, brackets and allThe plugin is not active. Plugins › Activate.

Take it out again

Plugins, Deactivate, then Delete. The plugin removes its settings and cache on the way out. A shortcode left in a post prints as text, so remove those too.
