The composite annual rate on newly issued Series I savings bonds, which the Treasury resets every May 1 and November 1.

The newest earning period and, within it, the newest issue month: the composite rate a Series I bond bought now earns, which is the fixed rate plus twice the semiannual inflation rate plus their product.
